The job cuts continue at the Bank of Canada as another 55 full-time positions have been axed.

That brings the total number of jobs cut this month to 88.

This latest round of cuts hit workers in the bank’s corporate administration units following the earlier reduction in the information technology unit.

A bank spokesman says about a quarter of the 88 jobs cuts this month came from retirements, elimination of vacancies and normal attrition.
Some workers will leave immediately and others will be gone by the end of the year.
