The job cuts will come through a combination of layoffs, voluntary early retirements and leaving open positions vacant, hospital spokesman Brian Lucas said. The number of layoffs has yet to be finalized, he said.
In a release, the hospital detailed how state cuts to Medicaid funding have disproportionately impacted its finances compared to adult hospitals, since Medicaid makes up 44 percent of Children’s Hospital revenues as opposed to around 10 percent for adult hospitals.
