The Klamath Falls budget committee approved a revised 2011-12 fiscal year budget Thursday, after it told city staff to cut $500,000 to increase the amount of carryover money in the general fund.

To achieve a half-million dollars in cuts, staff eliminated seven full-time employees – four through attrition and three through layoffs – and changed the police department’s approach to vehicle replacement.
