Curtis Cooper center to slash 21 jobs

40 percent loss of county funding under a new contract for indigent care.
In addition, hours of operation will be slashed at the Curtis V. Cooper Primary Health Care Center, 106 East Broad St. Hours of operation at the 2 Roberts St. location will be unaffected.
Leon Burton, executive director, said the restructuring would slash hours of operation at the main site from 88 hours a week over seven days to 49 hours over six days.
Reductions, which began in January, will be fully phased in by July 1.
