Spokeswoman Melanie Mahaffey, who declined to give a specific number, said the layoffs were due to the account loss and organizational changes leading up to the company’s 40-year anniversary later this year.
Last week, it was announced that Norwegian Cruise Line named the Martin Agency, of Richmond, Va. as its agency of record after six years with GSD&M.
GSD&M, which grew to more than 900 at its peak in 2007, remains Austin’s biggest agency, with just under 500 employees.
