The Neenah school board on Tuesday unanimously cut the school district’s 2011-12 workforce by 16 positions, decreasing costs by nearly $1.3 million.

The staff reductions are part of a multifaceted effort to close a projected $4.6 million gap in next year’s budget.

Responding to concerns aired by board members two weeks ago, administrators slightly increased staffing at Neenah High School to reduce class sizes in math and English.
