Quincy school district cuts 31 jobs

The school district in the western Illinois city of Quincy says plans to cut 31 jobs could save as much as $1.8 million.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports that the moves made by the school board Wednesday night will affect 24 full-time employees.

Superintendent Lonny Lemon says the state still owes the district about $3 million for the current fiscal year.
