Sadler Clinic lays off 15 staff members

Fifteen staff members were notified Friday that Sept. 3 would be their last day of employment with the Conroe-based medical system. Their terminations were the result of the “recently announced physician departures,” Dr. Mark Wilkerson, chairman of the board for Sadler Clinic, said in a prepared statement.
This is the second time this year Sadler Clinic has laid off employees due to physician departures. The clinic laid off 38 employees in early May after 24 doctors either resigned or were fired due to differences with the company’s operational philosophy.
Following that layoff, the clinic reduced the hours of 290 full-time employees from 40 hours a week to 32. However, Herrera said the clinic increased the schedules of “85 to 100” employees from 32 to 36 hours a week.
“We’re receiving more patients, which has led to more hours by our physicians,” he said.
The five physicians who resigned from Sadler Clinic last week are at odds with changes with the clinic’s management style, their attorney said.
