Staten Island’s Richmond University Medical Center to lay off 60 workers, including nurses

Richmond University Medical Center will lay off 60 workers, including up to 20 nurses and will also furlough other employees to stave off a potential $6 million budget shortfall.

The layoffs, announced today, will become effective Aug. 1; however, administrators stressed that patient services won’t be slashed.
