Nokia Oyj will eliminate 4,000 jobs including at its oldest factory in Finland as it shifts mobile- phone manufacturing to Asia, its largest market.
Handset production will end in Hungary, Mexico and Finland, where the plants will focus on final adjustments to finished phones, Espoo, Finland-based Nokia said today. Most of the production will move to existing factories in Beijing and Masan, South Korea.

TechEye has heard that Nokia is going to fire up to 6,000 people as soon as next week.
An industry source tells us the lay-offs will mainly be in Nokia’s home country, Finland.

Has Microsoft struck by recession? Mini Microsoft Blog speculates M$ cutting at least 54 jobs from product groups and 10% of its fiance department. But these are all rumors, unless proven otherwise.
