Medtronic cuts 270 jobs from Twin Cities workforce

A major Twin Cities medical manufacturer will lay off at least 270 employees this week as part of a planned restructuring effort.

Medtronic Spokesperson Brian Henry confirmed the layoffs, but would not say what division or part of the company those job cuts would come from.


Wells Fargo cutting 1,900 mortgage jobs

Wells Fargo & Co. is cutting 1,900 mortgage jobs as home lending and refinancing slows, according to media reports.

The cutbacks, which were announced to employees March 23, represent 1 percent of Wells Fargo’s entire workforce and 3 percent of its mortgage staff.


Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota to cut 250 jobs

Children’s Hospital and Clinics of Minnesota plans to eliminate between 200 and 250 full-time positions by mid-November.

The job cuts will come through a combination of layoffs, voluntary early retirements and leaving open positions vacant, hospital spokesman Brian Lucas said. The number of layoffs has yet to be finalized, he said.
