UT Health Science Center SA Cuts 150 Jobs

The layoffs started Wednesday with nine information technology jobs eliminated.

According to Dr. William Henrich, president of the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, 50 to 60 jobs will be eliminated with around 90 potential positions not being filled. In all, Henrich estimates a loss of around 150 jobs.

Henrich also said the job cuts were planned to allow for laid-off employees to receive two months of pay while the Health Science Center attempts to help place employees into other jobs. Other cuts were also made.
