Eleven jobs have been lost at Nelson company Fresh A Peel.

The redundancies follow the company’s decision to cut its supply of bulk peeled and chopped vegetables for the food service and wholesale market.

Fresh A Peel is a grower and manufacturer of prepared vegetables and salads, with several growing sites in the region. The company produced one tonne of bulk-prepared vegetables every day. About 50 businesses will be affected by the change, including restaurants and rest homes.
